Cape Ann Whale Watch’s “Hurricane 2” hauls out on the Rose’s Syncrolift.

Writer: A.F. MacLeod JrA.F. MacLeod Jr

We’re taking advantage of this March “Fools Spring” here @rose.marine.gloucester Drydock . Dave and the Yard Crew hauled the @capeannwhalewatch “Hurricane 2” on the Syncrolift this morning. Built in 1979 at Latana Shipyard, Ft Worth Fl., she’s just over 115’ long and powered by 4 (Ya, FOUR👀👀👀) 1,000HP CAT 3412E diesel’s. She spins 4 - 5 bladed wheels at 2000 rpm and makes a respectable 30+ knots wide open. Also a cool feature of this boat, she turns 4 rudders aft which even with a multi propeller vessel is NOT common. They run a great boat with a better whale watch right out of our yard here in Gloucester. Check them out!

Also caught Capt Bill Lee sanding the “Ocean Reporter” and Capt @dan_germain19 getting busy on his family’s lobster boat “Labor in Vain”. Call for vessel haul out availability!
